NATIONAL URBAN LEAGUE RECLAIMS THE DREAM

NEW YORK – The National Urban League will join National Action Network and a distinguished roster of leaders and activists for the historic Reclaim the Dream Rally and March on Saturday, August 28th in Washington DC at Dunbar High School at 11 am.

Marc H. Morial, President and CEO of the National Urban League, will address the rally at 1 p.m. Other speakers include United States Education Secretary, Arne Duncan, Martin Luther King, III,  President, Center for Nonviolent Social Change, Inc.; MSNBC journalist Ed Schultz, NAACP President Benjamin Todd Jealous, and  Melanie L. Campbell, President of National Coalition on Black Civic Participation and Convener of the Black Women's Roundtable.

“We represent the millions and millions of men and women, black, white, brown, Asian and Native Americans, who work day in and day out to forge a 21st century America which represents one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty, justice and economic opportunity for all.” Morial said. “This is a celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King’s legacy.  This is a celebration of unity, and a rejection of any coalition, any movement, any effort or any personality that wishes to divide this nation along lines of race and region, class and gender, age and religion.”

Following the rally at Dunbar High School, participants will march to the site of the Martin Luther King Jr. National Memorial under construction on the National Mall.
